The Uritao Youth Leadership Academy
The Uritao Youth Leadership Academy (House of Young Men) is an immersive cultural program that preserves and passes on the customs, traditions, and survival skills of the CHamoru people. Participants learn hands-on skills such as farming, traditional navigation, hut building, weaving, fishing, and net casting, living as our ancestors once did. The academy also teaches the values that shaped our people: respect, discipline, leadership, and service. Along the way, participants meet CHamoru cultural icons, hear stories of resilience, and strengthen their identity as protectors of tradition. Made possible through the support of the Department of Youth Affairs, Inetnon Gefpå’go, and the Guam Museum, this program empowers young men with the skills, pride, and leadership to carry Guam’s heritage into the future.
I Hinanao-ta Season Production
I Hinanao-ta Season Production (Our Journey) is a powerful cultural stage production debuting during Guam’s 2025 Liberation Festivities. Presented by the Guam Museum and the Department of CHamoru Affairs, it offers a fresh, immersive take on CHamoru heritage through music, dance, and emotional storytelling. Inspired by the Guam Museum’s exhibit, this show transitions from static displays to a dynamic stage experience. It brings the island’s deep history to life and shares the spirit and resilience of the CHamoru people in a heartfelt way. The production takes audiences on an emotional and historical voyage, highlighting CHamoru history, cultural evolution, and themes of resilience, identity, and love. It is designed to spark pride in Guam’s unique identity.

Together, we’ll experience new countries, learn from different traditions, and create lifelong friendships and memories. Whether you’re a returning member or someone ready to take the stage for the first time, this is your chance to grow, connect, and be part of something bigger than yourself. Training and preparation will guide us as we move in unity, proudly carrying the spirit of our island wherever we go. We have traveled to 27 countries and counting.
